It has been 30 anniversary after the first Toy Story film was released, establishing Pixar as a major animation studio and introducing audiences to beloved figures like Woody (the actor) and Buzz Lightyear (the voice talent), who are now household names.

Coming in 2026, the fifth installment is set to arrive. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed recently, providing a glimpse into the storyline but keeping fans curious how it will resolve the conclusion of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Spooks the Gang

In the teaser reveals the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — getting a brand new plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. She gets her first tablet computer, and she is excited about it.

Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will come to life just like the rest of her playthings. However, the characters appear to consider it as a danger intending to supplant them, which it probably is.

Woody's Return: Unanswered Questions from Toy Story 4

An element the teaser avoids is what Woody is back with his companions in Bonnie's room. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (Annie Potts), journeying with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.

Surely, the filmmakers will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in the familiar setting unexpectedly is a little strange, though. It also makes us wonder whether Bo Peep will have returned with him. And where is Duke Caboom (the star)?

Continuity from the Last Installment

At the very least, some elements are continuing from the earlier movie. The last thing the cowboy did before departing for his fresh path was pass his sheriff badge to the cowgirl (Joan Cusack), leaving her in charge of the toy domain. The clip shows the insignia attached to her outfit.

It is hoped she is remains the driving force among the toys.
