Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a setback at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former coach Gilles Cervara.

Presently working with Johansson and his other coach, he has gradually improved in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's first title since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Victory also signifies the Russian has secured 21 titles at twenty-one different events.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a title is really nice," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's counter-punching play style and regular emotional displays on court had led commentators to question if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the first set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the final five points to go ahead.

The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first professional championship, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet defended 4 early-game chances in a close deciding set before the champion broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
